Cardboard House of Cards does a fundraiser for Parkland victims

Story highlights Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting Victims’ Club

Featuring a Cardboard House of Cards player, this Christmas greeting is making its rounds on Twitter.

There are so many Christmas cards out there. The Postal Service averages in the tens of millions of greetings a day, while many individuals try to do the same. However, our favorite ones are always those that grace us with messages from members of Congress, who should be — and can be — the best ambassadors for their respective states and the nation.

Following the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, in February, we’ve been getting tons of beautiful and heartfelt cards from the victims’ families and first responders. But this December holiday greeting…not so much.

Part of the reason might be that the sender isn’t a member of Congress. Instead, it’s Congressman Rick Saccone from Pennsylvania, who was the second choice candidate to be Trump’s running mate. In the message, Saccone announces a new fundraising drive and Wishes For The Holidays — a Christmas card for the victims of the Parkland shooting.

Oh sure, we understand the need to put things in perspective in light of Parkland. And with a stamp in hand, we should be able to accept and look at how horrific the attack was. But if Saccone’s of conflict of interest, maybe he can at least opt for the “Please Do Not Print” option for his cards.
