Alicia Keys has returned to her piano-driven roots on her new album “Keys.”

The 36-year-old soulstress took to Instagram on Tuesday to post the first single, a sharp, bluesy “Only One.”

Of the track, she says, “It’s the first single off my new album. It’s literally written right out of my heart.”

Featuring Moroccan-American producer Sounwave, “Only One” reimagines the high-octane piano-driven groove from “Girl on Fire” , her fifth and most recent album, which sold 6.6 million copies worldwide.

As a child growing up in Chicago’s South Side, Keys says the music of Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald and Ray Charles played a big role in her development.

“I was a late bloomer, but they all said: ‘You should listen to these women! You’ll grow up to be like this,’” she told W magazine in 2010.

Keys’ “Keys” is due to be released on November 24. Following the lead of first single, “After Dark,” it promises to be a dramatic return for the singer — who, during her last tour, spent part of her downtime creating a 16-hour day while sitting in the studio, riffing away.
