Disney California Adventure to bring back festivals, Soarin’ Over California ride in 2023

A long awaited project to bring back a California vacation to Disneyland, Soarin’ Over California will open in 2023. The project will bring a 30-minute ride that takes riders through California’s scenic desert, mountain and coastal areas.
The ride, which has been in the planning stages since 2011, will use the technology of Disney’s virtual reality headsets.
The ride will be a “first-of-its-kind” and will “evolve the industry,” Disney chief executive and chairman Bob Iger said in a release on Thursday.
“Bringing this unique experience back to Disneyland® Park will bring a whole new element of magic to our guests, which is why we are so excited for our upcoming Soarin’ Over California ride, which will return to Disneyland® Park in 2023,” he said.
Iger said the Soarin’ Over California ride will make its first commercial launch in 2023.
“To make the Soarin’ experience as exciting as possible, we are collaborating with a high-quality VR and augmented reality technology provider to ensure the Soarin’ Over California will be a first-of-its-kind ride,” he said.
