Officials seek information after Migos rapper Takeoff, 28, dies in Houston shooting
HELENA, Mont. — A shooting in Houston left one man dead. Authorities in Helena said they are looking into whether it was a gang related shooting or a random attack.
The shooting took place on East Bancroft Street. It occurred about 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of North Bancroft and East Main streets. A woman who was with the victim at the time of the shooting was also taken to the hospital. She was expected to survive.
A man who witnessed the shooting drove through the neighborhood and turned down East Central Street, saying he heard gunshots coming from the area. He said he saw the man get down onto his knees and then get up.
The victim and the witness were taken to the University of Montana Hospital.
The victim was taken to the hospital with several gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
His name has been released and the incident has been turned over to the Department of Justice, said spokeswoman Bethany Heald.
No arrests have been made. The motive for the shooting is also unknown.

A man who lives in the neighborhood returned to his home in the 1800 block of West Bancroft Street about 10:45 p.m. to find his wife shot in the head. They were both taken to the hospital.
At the hospital, police said the woman had been shot three times and was in stable condition.
